Syracuse +2½

Hey guys, this is my first post here. Looking to add some winners and help out with my game analysis. Tonight I like the Orangemen quite a bit. When analyzing Syracuse's past three games, I have not been able to pinpoint why the oddsmakers have decided to make them underdogs for the third consecutive game. I was on the Orangemen against Missouri last week and against Notre Dame on Saturday. Tonight is the same situation, the superior team getting points. When handicapping ball games I first assess who is going to win the ball game. If you are betting a favorite they have to win the game anyway. I have also kept a close eye on when teams win throughout the day, they usually cover the spread. After analyzing the final scores last night at about 11:00 the winning team was 16-7 ATS up until that time last night. I think there is little doubt that Syracuse will win this ball game with the better team and keep in mind they have been on a roll. Another component of this game caught my eye. Seton Hall lost to Boston College on Saturday by 9 I think and Syracuse, albeit at home, buried Boston College by 22. The other most important thing I look at when handicapping a game is which of the two teams are going to bring their A Game. I think Syracuse is confident and rolling right now and they believe they can play with anyone in the country. I love a team with that cocky swagger to 'em. Jim Boeheim is a tremendous coach and the 2-3 Zone of Syracuse should give Seton Hall and Andre Barrett plenty of problems. Seton Hall on the other hand may be a little shooken up after blowing an 11 point lead to Boston College on Saturday and losing a close game to Providence last week at home. Now, they face the defending champs. That's all I got for now. Hopefully this all adds up to a winner. Good luck guys!

Good points - I am on Syracuse also.

I dont think them being defending champs has much to do with it but your review of their common opponent, surging momentum, and what appears to be a disrespect for syracuse in vegas, is well taken.

Good luck with yer picks!

I looked at Cuse here too -- the thing that really scared me is that this is they are coming off a tough nationally televised battle at ND where their five starters played a vast majority of the minutes -- only 7 players played and their two reserves combined for only 24 minutes.

Nonetheless, I think the Cuse is definately showing the buy sign.

Best of Luck

the oddsmakers look at a stat that has paid off over the last few years "road team doesn't win three in a row on the road" for some reason this has been quite true, I don't like to take rules like this seriously but have already been burnt a few times, I like Syracuse tonight as well, just worried, but that is just FYI info
